Steve Kirschner: Senior Associate Director - UNC Athletic Communications

I worked with Adrian in my role as Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Communications and his as the lead producer and reporter for Sports Xtra, a news program run by students out of the Hussman School of Media and Journalism at UNC.

Sports Xtra covers all of Carolina’s 28 varsity athletic teams. As producer, Adrian worked with me as he came up with story ideas, assigned and coordinated other students to set up interviews with our coaches and student-athletes, and obtained credentials to videotape highlights and gather post-event interviews.

I have worked with numerous producers and reporters from Sports Xtra (I’m in my 32nd year at UNC Athletic Communications) and found Adrian to be the most organized, responsible and professional student producer to date. I was impressed with his creative story-telling ideas and the way he managed his fellow students.
